Day 52

Emmett can "read" a book now. I'm pretty impressed with what text he can remember. Most of the books he likes are train books and don't have that rhyming, easy language that I would expect him to remember. But, I guess when you're interested in the book, the words come easy to you :). Ali has the memory of an elephant and can "read" some impressively, long stories without missing a word!

Day 52

Yum-o! Found a great Mexican place tonight when we went out for drew's birthday. Happy birthday to my husband of almost 11 years!!!! He didn't want to be in the picture...

Day 51

This is a pic of one of those everyday kind of memories that you know you'll forget. We took the dogs for a walk and Emmett wanted to bring his Hobbies. It's so cute watching him carry that thing by it's neck, drug by his foot, and kissed on his nose. I know some day he'll be a grown man, but I hope to never forget the sweet little boy he is now :)

Day 50

Entertaining the kids while we wait for my doctor appt. Ali gave the receptionist a flower she picked and Emmett choo-chooed for all the nurses. What can I say...

Day 49

I now know emmett's type. After making this craft at the library storytime, he wanted to give his craft away to the "red gir-yerl". She was the storyteller, and he didn't sit through storytime at all. He was off on the computers. But, after he finished his craft, he was 100% sure he wanted to give it to her. She, like the other girl, had long, dark hair and liked to be silly :). So, I'm guessing that is his type!

Day 48

I took this picture when we went out to dinner with drew's parents. They have the kids menu on a viewmaster. I thought that was the highlight of the evening. But, what turned out to be the highlight was watching the show that em put on with the waitress. He was sitting in his chair being goofy and caught the attention of a waitress. He would hide his face or lower his head and close his eyes as she would walk by. But then turn around and look for her after she had passed. This went on all evening, until our waiter was clearing our plates. Em wouldn't give his plate away, he wanted his girl waitress to take it. So I arranged for that to happen. In a few moments, she came over and asked to take his plate. He had that look that little boys get. He was awe-struck and speechless. She tried to make conversation, but he was too shy. She told him goodbye, and it was like he was in lovesick slow motion. As she was leaving, he was just getting his chubby hand up to give a cute little wave to her. So funny to watch!!!! So innate. Amazing that he was just like a cartoon little puppy in love!
