We went to the aquarium today with Nonnie, Aunt Mer, Andrew, Luke and baby Nate. Loved seeing the fun sea creatures...

Day 45

I've been interested in the process of kids learning how to draw. I've never wanted to teach them to draw a stick figure to show how to draw a person. So in the meantime, we've been working on tracing, writing letters, drawing shapes, cutting, etc. Ali has been frustrated that she couldn't draw what she was visualizing. So when I saw this "megasorous" she drew, I was really impressed. It's amazing to see how they grow and change.

Day 44

The kids and I are icing and decorating the cookies we were taking to my brother and the rest of the fire fighters. They had a blast playing at the station. Ali drew a picture for them all as a valentine. Em was going to give them each an acorn that he picked up off the ground on the way into the station, but had a hard time parting with them. I want to continue to find practical ways for the kids to show love and appreciation for other people's lives. And cookies make everything lovely :)

Day 44

Kids were talking about fire trucks today and how they drive with or without the lights and sirens on. We saw one driving without it's lights and they were discussing where it could be going (back to the station, grocery store, maybe a school, etc). Ali asked Emmett later what he wanted to be when he grew up. In his tough guy voice, he answered, "I be a fireman! Be BIG and STRONG. Go to the grocery store!!"
Although, here he is choo-chooing...

Day 41

My goals today: take check to new school, take em to the doctor, get myself to the doctor, grocery shop, library, and get ali's jammies to her at school for jammie day. Problem: broken car :(. But luckily, as Emmett said, "daddy saved the day!". We got Ali her jammies at school and got my car running so I could take it to the repair shop. Didn't get much else accomplished... Sure is nice to have a husband who cares about the little things that are important to the kids!
